Dear Parents and Guardians,
On April 16th, 2026, the Nazareth Area Middle School 8th grade teams will be participating in a very exciting event, Pennsylvania History Day. This event engages students in the process of discovery and interpretation of historical places, cities, and people in Pennsylvania. Every eighth-grader has been placed on a team. Each team will be responsible for making a presentation showcasing different aspects of the history of Pennsylvania. The students have been working hard to put together a tri-fold poster, an electronic display, an interactive presentation, and a scavenger hunt.
After the students’ presentations are finished, they will be served a Pennsylvania-style lunch (students only) and then their day will conclude with live Polka entertainment. We have invited all NASD school administrators, board members, as well as some local and state representatives, to attend our event and to help celebrate with the students the history of our great Commonwealth.
The cost of the catered portioned Pennsylvania-style lunch and live entertainment will be $10.00 per student (you may use your child’s fundraising money). Checks can be made payable to “NAMS PTSA”. The catered portion of our meal will consist of Knockwurst or German style hot dog, a side of potato salad, cabbage and noodles, buttered noodles and sauerkraut, a pretzel, and A-Treat beverages and water. Payment for the luncheon will be accepted by your child’s Social Studies teacher. Please place payment in an envelope with your child’s name on it. If you are using fundraising money, place a note in an envelope, indicating your use of funds.
