Shafer Elementary is one of three K-4 elementary schools in the Nazareth Area School District. Shafer was built in 1962 and additions were made to enhance the building in 1997.  In 1980, Shafer adopted the "Roadrunner" as its school mascot.  In 2006, the Roadrunner was named "Flash" by the students of the school.  There are approximately 84 staff members and 560 students currently enrolled at Shafer.

Research shows that parents/guardians play a key role in each student’s academic and social success.  Therefore, we invite all parents and guardians to become involved with the Shafer School Community. Parent support and input are always appreciated.
