On Thursday, May 25, 2023, LNES remembered and honored people who served or are currently serving in the armed forces. A video of the musical tribute to honor and remember our armed forces on Memorial Day is below. We also take this time to not only remember those that gave all but to all those that have served or are currently serving.

LNES Fourth Grade student Liam Ruane is in Mrs. Miller's class. Liam's late father, Captain Sean Ruane, was a Combat Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot in the U.S. Air Force. Captain Ruane deployed four times to Iraq and Afghanistan. While stationed in England, at RAF Lakenheath, Captain Ruane lost his life on a training mission due to a bird strike. This video was shot by National Geographic and featured Captain Ruane in memory of other fallen soldiers prior to his losing his own life shortly after. Thank you to Mrs. Rachel Thompson and her son, Liam, for sharing this video with us.
