Dr. Joseph Yanek-Principal
Hello, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Dr. Yanek, Principal of the Nazareth Area Intermediate School. I have been in education for 37 years, principal for the last 27 years. My educational experiences include urban, suburban, and rural settings; and all three levels of education; elementary, middle and high school. These varied experiences have greatly aided my understanding and assisted me in handling all the issues that come with educating children in the 21st Century.
As you navigate our website, we are confident that all your questions about our great school will be answered. If, for some reason, you cannot find the information you are seeking, please feel free to contact the school at 484-292-1111 so your questions can be answered.
I, as well as the Intermediate’s staff, look forward to working with the Nazareth Community to make our school the best place to learn and work. We understand with change, growing pains will occur. It is our goal to reflect on the changes, understand the impact they have on our constituents, and if possible, modify actions for improvement. We are proud of what our students are accomplishing, and we hope you get a chance to participate in the “Intermediate Experience.”

Mrs. Jackie Bewick- Assistant Principal
My name is Jackie Bewick, and I am thrilled to be back at Nazareth Area Intermediate School! I was a 5th Grade teacher for a number of years in our building, then a program specialist working with our English Language Learners, and I can now gratefully add administrator to the list! I am excited to see so many familiar faces and families, and to make many more connections to our #aNAISing community.
I believe a successful school year is paired with providing a safe and nurturing environment. Here at NAIS, we take great pride in helping meet the individual needs of our students, and prepare them for the triumphs and challenges that lay ahead. Learning is not confined to a classroom, nor does it stop at the end of the school day. I, as well as the school staff, eagerly anticipate working with the NAIS community to make our school the best place to learn, work, share, question, take risks, laugh, respect, and care for one another. I look forward to working together in assisting our students reach their fullest potential.
Please reach out whenever you have any questions or concerns.
