Mrs. Susanna Freed
As the Mathematics Specialist for NAMS, I have the pleasure of working with students individually and as small groups. I frequently visit classrooms to assist students with their skills and concepts. My hope for our students is that they will learn to feel more confident in their mathematical ability and eventually love the subject as much as I do.
I graduated from Mansfield University (Bachelor's of Science) and Wilkes Universities (Master's in Classroom Technology). My certifications are in 6 - 12 mathematics and general science. After 7 years teaching in Maryland, I moved to Pennsylvania and have been teaching in the Nazareth School District for the past 27 years. I have taught both middle school and high school. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, playing with our 2 dogs, reading and traveling. My husband and I have raised 3 children in the NASD and believe it is the BEST!

Mansfield University in Elementary Education Master's Degree from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Mrs. Jodi Chilson
I earned my Bachelor's Degree from Mansfield University in Elementary Education and my Master's Degree from Walden University in Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment. My role is to help assist Administration, teachers, parents but more importantly, students, in the RtII framework. Teaching students strategies to get through academic struggles as well as life, are important tools to have in one's toolbox in order to preserve and move through the problem in order to get to the other end.
What Is RtII (Response to Instruction and Intervention)?
Response to Intervention (RTI) or MTSS- (Multi-Tier System of Support) is a multi-tier approach to the early identification and support of students with learning and behavior needs. The RTI process begins with high-quality instruction and universal screening of all children in the general education classroom. Struggling learners are provided with interventions at increasing levels of intensity to accelerate their rate of learning. These services may be provided by a variety of personnel, including general education teachers, special educators, and specialists. Progress is closely monitored to assess both the learning rate and level of performance of individual students. Educational decisions about the intensity and duration of interventions are based on individual student response to instruction. RTI is designed for use when making decisions in both general education and special education, creating a well-integrated system of instruction and intervention guided by child outcome data.
