Yesterday was about so much more than sports; it was a celebration of community, inclusion, and shared triumph. We were honored to host the Northampton County Special Olympics Track & Field Day at NASD’s Andrew S. Leh Stadium.
A huge thank you to Team Northampton Special Olympics for their partnership, and a special shoutout to our keynote speaker, Miss Pennsylvania Victoria Vespico, for her inspiring words. We loved welcoming incredible athletes from across the region: Bangor SD, Nazareth SD, Northampton SD, Pen Argyl SD, and Wilson SD.
The amazing weather was the perfect backdrop for a truly amazing day. Thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, volunteer, and compete. You made today unforgettable.

Huge congratulations to our very own Mr. John Ostrowski, Lead Athletic Trainer at Nazareth Area SD through St. Luke’s University Health Network, on being elected President of the Pennsylvania Athletic Training Society (PATS)! 🏆 We are so proud to have a leader in sports medicine caring for our student-athletes every day.
Our spring semester HS students from AP Biology and Anatomy & Physiology classes had the opportunity to participate in a medical lab with doctors from St. Luke’s University Orthopedics and Arthrex, a medical equipment supplier who provides training to physicians on their devices. Students were able to hear from doctors in a lecture setting, practice video guided arthroscopic procedures on a realistic model, and observe doctors perform a dissection of a human cadaver shoulder. New this semester, students were able to view live ultrasounds of shoulder and arm muscles. Thank you to St. Luke’s and Arthrex for bringing this hands-on experience to our students!

Thank you to Justin Gindhart from the Eastern PA EMS council for coordinating with NASD for such a unique opportunity for our students. We would also like to thank Upper Nazareth Fire Department, Vigilance Hose Fire Department, LVHN MedEvac, and Nazareth EMS for their participation. On Friday, April 10, 2026, between 1:00 PM and 2:30 PM, we are excited to host the MEDEVAC team from Lehigh Valley Health Network (LVHN) at our Middle School complex. As part of our ongoing Middle and High School Career Speaker Series, the team will provide a specialized presentation on careers in Emergency Medical Services.
Neighbors and families may hear sirens and see the helicopter landing during this window. Please be assured that this is a planned educational event and all students are safe.
NAHS AP Environmental Science students attended the 2026 PA Brownfields Conference. The students had the opportunity to learn with industry professionals about the operations that surround brownfield redevelopment projects like Bethlehem Steelstacks. They participated in a design challenge with other schools. Student groups were given a site map for a former brownfield in Pittsburgh, PA and tasked with designing and justifying a redevelopment plan that protected the public from existing contamination and increased the usefulness of the site to the community. They presented their final projects and received feedback from panels of city planners, environmental regulators, geologists, and engineers. Such a great opportunity for our students! #NASDProud

Our NAMS and NAHS Interact Clubs have been busy little bunnies! 🐰 These club members worked together to collect and fill over 3,000 eggs to host an egg hunt for kindergartners at each elementary building in the Nazareth Area School District.
The day overflowed with excitement from the club members to the kindergartners dashing across the field. It was a heartwarming reminder of what happens when our community comes together!
