The purpose of the presentation at the January 14, 2025 School Board Committee meeting was to update the Board and community on the progress of addressing growing student enrollment through the proposed construction of a new K-4 elementary school. This included a review of the evaluation process conducted by the Administration and the District's engineering firm, CHA, and an outline of the next steps in the building plan was also provided.

At the October 22, 2024 School Board meeting, the initial borrowing of $10 million to fund the upcoming elementary construction project was authorized.  This will be the first of several borrowings used to pay for the purchase of land and construction costs associated with the new building. 

At our October 8, 2024 School Board Meeting, administration provided early projections on the personnel costs and budget development related to the new elementary building.  A link to that video and a first look estimate PowerPoint presentation on costs associated with staffing and debt borrowings for this project is in the Documents section.

At the September 24, 2024 School Board Meeting, the Board authorized the District's engineer, CHA to move forward with land identification for the construction of a new K-4 elementary building.  

At the February 27, 2024 School Board meeting, the Board approved an enrollment projection evaluation with PowerSchool Predictive Enrollment Analytics. The intent of this study was to determine the future residential developments and enrollment growth in the District over the next 10 years. This report is included below in the Documents section. The information from this enrollment study identified a need for the District to begin the evaluation of current facilities K-12 with the assistance of the District's engineering firm, CHA. This analysis resulted in a public presentation at our August 13, 2024 School Board meeting identifying an initial need for either expansion/renovation of existing elementary facilities - or - the construction of a new elementary building.
