• Libby Fehnel pic  Miss Libby Fehnel is a first-year teacher at Kenneth N. Butz Elementary School in the Emotional Support Classroom. This is a new program in the district at the elementary level and includes students in grades K-4. Libby graduated from East Stroudsburg University in the Spring of 2022 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education PreK-8. She is an upbeat and positive teacher who always has a smile on her face no matter what challenges she is faced with. Libby has grown immensely since the start of the school year and has built a classroom community of learners who have made progress and positive growth socially, emotionally, and academically.

As a new teacher, Miss Fehnel has become skillful at directing not only her students but also working closely with three other Associate Teachers assigned to her classroom. She displays good decision-making skills, which is something that is necessary for the ever-changing environment of her classroom. One of the best traits that Libby displays is that she doesn’t sweat the small stuff. Even when her days are long, and situations are tough, she displays love towards her students, gratitude for the position she holds, and knows how to laugh when the going gets tough! When asked about Libby, Mrs. Apruzzi, KBES Principal, stated, “Miss Fehnel is a wonderful addition to our Butz Elementary staff and we look forward to having her be a part of our team for many years to come.” On behalf of myself, the Administration, and the Board of School Directors, I would like to thank Libby for her patience, compassion, positivity, and empathy – all core values teachers must have to work with children living with emotional disturbance.
