Board Committee Structure
-
The Board Committee of the Whole convenes on the second Tuesday of each month, with the exception of July and December. The School Board Committee of the Whole serves as an avenue for discussion and information gathering before the School Board makes a final decision at the regularly scheduled Board meeting. In short, the Committee of the Whole acts as a public Board workshop, enabling the School Board to make well-informed decisions that benefit students.
The School Board Committee of the Whole operates two types of committees:
-
Standing Committees: As outlined in Policy 005: Organization, these include Audit & Finance, Facilities & Operations, Educational Program & Technology, Athletics & Extra-curricular, Food Service, and Transportation.
-
These Committees will meet between one and four times per year according to the following schedule: Meeting Structure
-
A standing committee can meet additional times as needed.

-
Ad Hoc Committees: These include Policy, Safe Schools, Teacher EPED, and the Scholarship Fund, and they convene as needed. Ad Hoc Committees meet on an as needed basis. They are convened for specific purposes, often to address a particular topic.
The Personnel Committee, also a standing committee under Policy 005, meets in Executive Session due to legal considerations.
