Grades 5-6 Mathematics
The Nazareth Area School District’s 5-6 Mathematics Program prepares students for beginning the secondary mathematics sequence, which begins with Algebra 1. All grade levels are aligned to the PA Academic Standards for Mathematical Content and Mathematical Practice. Students are assessed at the end of each topic of instruction through a Topic Test and then through Benchmark Assessments, which cover all topics taught by that time to measure continued mastery and/or content that needs to be revisited.
The District utilizes Reveal Math as its core resource.
Supplemental programs include:
-
The Problem Solver-teaches students specific problem-solving strategies for word problems
-
Fast Math-fact fluency practice
- First in Math-self-paced practice of math procedural skills
